Wanted: Forest Festival Court candidates

Mason County high school juniors and seniors who are interested in being a member of Mason County Forest Festival Royalty Court, and their parents and guardians, are invited to attend an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelton YMCA.

Positions are open for Queen of the Forest and Paul Bunyan — who both must be seniors — Timber the Axe Man, Princess of Hemlock and Princess of Douglas Fir. Scholarships of between $1,000 and $2,000 will be awarded.

The coronation ceremony will be Feb. 11, following coronation practices from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 10, 17, 24 and 31, and Feb. 7 at the Shelton YMCA.
