Holiday open house Friday at the HUB

The HUB Center for Seniors hosts a holiday open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

Attendees can enjoy live entertainment and appetizers and play Mingle Jingle Bingo. The first 100 seniors will receive Blanket a Senior gift bags. Arrangements also can be made for a caregiver to pick up a bag for a homebound senior.

Beavers Firewood will give free firewood to seniors in the parking lot. The HUB Shop will be open, and the prices of all items will be marked half off.

Community Resource Fair in Hoodsport Jan. 18

A Rural Community Resource Fair will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 18 at 331 N. Finch Creek Road, Hoodsport.

General support services are available, including mental health, physical and oral health, vaccinations, rental and utility assistance, veterans’ assistance, food benefits and meals, transportation assistance, insurance navigation, housing assistance, educational support, financial fitness and free civil law aid.

Participating organizations include Behavioral Health Resources, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Washington, Choice Regional Health Network, Community Action Council, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 22, DSHS, Family Education Support Services, Mason Conservation District, Mason Transit Authority, Molina Healthcare, National Alliance on Mental Illness, New Directions Counseling, Northwest Resources/SOS, Olympic Health and Recovery Services, Olympic College, Peninsula Community Health Services, Peninsula Credit Union, Sea-Mar, Shelton Family YMCA, Sound Learning, South Sound Parent to Parent, The Arc, Thurston County Regional Library, Timberland Regional Library, Turning Pointe Survivor Advocacy Center and Youth Connection.

Donate blood, get barbecue lunch

Give blood and receive a free barbecue lunch today and Friday at the North Mason Regional Fire Authority, 490 NE Old Belfair Highway, Belfair.

The lunches are courtesy of the fire authority and Scott McLendon’s. Appointments to donate blood are required at BloodworksNW.org or 1-800-398-7888.
