Dorothy Powter

Dorothy Powter 88, passed away Nov. l4, 2022 at Kindred Hospital in Seattle.

She was born in Chehalis in 1934 and grew up in Bremerton. Her parents were Edith and Theodore Luebke, and her brother Theodore (Teddy) Luebke. She shared 3 children with Ron Patnoe, since passed. She was a homemaker when the children were young, and then entered the workforce in retail sales (interior design, jewelry, tennis facility) in Seattle. She moved from the families' home on 42nd Ave. NE. in Lake City to Shoreline, and retired in Shelton at the family cabin on Lake Limerick. She was an active member of the community of Lake Limerick, involved in the Lake and Dam Committee as well as the Inn Committee. She was a personal close friend to many in the Lake Limerick Committee.

She loved to garden, support environmental groups, sail, follow restored sailing ships, updating her home and decorating for all holidays. She loved her family and took great interest in her children and grandchildren's lives. She was an avid pen/paper writer, sending letters/cards and clippings to others. She was creative, artistic and energetic, taking on home projects and community projects. She met the challenges of Metastatic Breast Cancer and lived with the challenges of this treatment for many years. She bravely decided to have had a surgery late September, responding to the negative effects of her cancer treatments. Unfortunately, she did not survive the recovery from the surgery.

She chose to be cremated, and wishes her ashes to be spread in the Olympic Mountains, close to the 'Brothers Peaks' along with her mother and father's ashes.

She is survived by her son Jeff Patnoe and family (Christine (wife), grandchildren Cassidy and Charlie), daughter Cathy Patnoe-Brandt and family (John (husband), grandchildren Lila and Cooper Brandt)- daughter Brenda Patnoe, - Sister in-law Nancy Luebke nephews (Brett Luebke (Crystal) and Blake (Tracey) Luebke.

There will be a celebration of life at her daughter Cathy's home in Seattle on Dec. 20th, Tuesday from 3:00 pm - 7:00'ish pm at 715 30th Ave. S.
