Thomas John Wittenberg passed from this life on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the age of 62.

Tom grew up in Shelton and settled nearby, where he could pursue his love of the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, skiing, shell-fishing and boating. He was a 1977 graduate of Shelton High School and attended Olympic College, Clover Park Technical and South Puget Sound College. He started his career in Laboratory Medicine and had recently retired from his 2nd career as an IT Server Specialist for WSDOT. A man of quiet faith, Tom was a member of both St. Edward and St. Michael Catholic churches. Tom was a loyal UW Dawg fan, a lover of rock music and an avid traveler. His passion for cooking and sharing food was legendary. One of his favorite quotes was "Life's not worth living if you can't feel alive!"

Tom is survived by his mother Dorothy Wittenberg Vonhof, wife Kristine, daughter Michelle Wittenberg (BJ), son Brett Wittenberg (Keonica), their mother Robin Oakes, grandchildren Jett, Renzee, Rileigh and Hazel and his 9 siblings Jan Olson (Larry), Paul Wittenberg, Mark Wittenberg (Val), Kathy Mix, Mary Gardner (Don), Mike Wittenberg (Roxanne), Ann McElhinney (Shawn), Trish Nilsen (Nick) and Beth Blakley (Leo), in addition to numerous nieces and nephews and many more family and friends. Tom was predeceased by his father, Ted and his brother Donald.

A funeral service and inurnment will be held for Tom at St. Edward Catholic Church, 601 W. C Street on Saturday June 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with a reception following in the Parish Hall, to share remembrances. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Edward Men's Club or a Catholic charity of your choice.
