Shelton softball

The Highclimber softball team lost its final three games of the regular season last week in Evergreen Conference games.

Shelton traveled to Chehalis and fell 15-5 to W.F. West on May 10. The Highclimbers went to Aberdeen on May 11 and lost 15-11. Rochester came to Shelton on May 13 for senior day, with the Highclimbers falling 16-4.

Shelton ended its season 5-16 overall and 4-14 in Evergreen Conference games.

Shelton Track

The Shelton girls finished fourth in the Evergreen Conference Championships on May 13 at Tiger Stadium in Centralia.

Alauna Carstens won the 1,600-meter race with a time of 5:09.99. She also won the 3,200-meter race with a time of 11:12.02.

Ali Clifton placed second in the 1,600-meter race with a time of 5:39.38 and the 3,200-meter race with a time of 12:17.81. Faith Linthicum took fourth in the 1,600-meter race.

Kennadi Ward placed sixth in the 100-meter and Maryjane Hageman earned fifth place in the 300-meter hurdles.

The 4x200 relay team of Delfina Ramirez, Quin Neal, Annalise Barkman and Ward placed third.

Taylin Vandyke finished fifth in the shot put and discus. Quin Neal earned fifth in the high jump and Ramirez placed fifh in the long jump.

The Shelton boys finished fifth as a team. Jacob Miller was the highest finisher for the Highclimbers, taking second in the 1,600-meter race with a time of 4:45.45. He finished third in the 3,200-meter race with a time of 10:20.74.

Kaden Pearson finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.47 seconds and third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.60.

The 4x100 relay team of Cameron Huisingh, Nathan Gomez, Bradley Eleton and Pearson placed third with a time of 46.19. The 4x400 relay team of Gabriel Menefee, Landon Bursch, Gomez and Pearson also placed third with a time of 3:41.38.

Mario Boxley finished second in the discus with a toss of 135 feet, 3 inches and fifth in the shot put and eighth in the javelin. Jaron Sartori took fourth in the high jump and triple jump and fifth in the long jump.

Shelton is back in action Friday at Highclimber Stadium in the 2A District 4 Track & Field Championships.

North Mason softball

North Mason won one game out of three games last week during Olympic League action.

The Bulldogs defeated Bainbridge 5-3 on the road May 10. North Mason fell 2-0 to Olympic on the road May 12 before wrapping up the regular season with a 5-2 loss to North Kitsap in Poulsbo on May 13.

North Mason will compete in the district tournament Friday and Saturday at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey. The Bulldogs play Tyee at 2 p.m. in their opening game.
