Michael Jay Briggs

Michael "Mike" Jay Briggs, age 54, passed away on March 19, 2022, in Mount Vernon, Washington. Mike was born in Beech Creek, PA on August 23, 1967. He was a 1985 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School.

Mike moved to the Seattle area in Washington in 1989, where he was married to his wife Jani of 33 years, and they have one daughter, Jennifer. The family lived in Shelton for years before moving to Mount Vernon. Mike spent his career working for various companies in the food processing sector as a mechanic, controls technician, and controls engineer. He is named in three patents for his engineering design work. Mike enjoyed hiking, camping and fixing electronics and mechanical devices in his free time.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Briggs. Mike is survived by his wife Jani, their daughter Jen, one grandson Julian, his mother Jane and five brothers, Wesley (Kip), Howard, David (Lisa), Mitch (Michele), and Raymond, Jr. (Xan).

Viewing will be held at the Mt. View Alliance Church in Shelton, Washington on April 1st, at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in his name to Union of Concerned Scientists at https://www.ucsusa.org/
