Peggie M. Lindberg

Peggie M. Lindberg, 98, of Shelton, Washington passed peacefully on March 23, 2022, with family by her side. She was the second child of J. Earl and Ruth Boller, born May 1, 1923, in Lewistown, Montana. Peggie grew up on a wheat and cattle ranch near Denton, Montana, and graduated from Fergus County High School and Montana State College.

Peggie came to Shelton in 1945 to teach art at the Junior High School. After several years of teaching, she worked at Simpson Employees Credit Union before devoting her time to raising four children. She married the late Gene "Cheese" Lindberg in 1947. Art, crafts, painting, and many facets of creativity were a big part of Peg's life. She found pleasure in everything from needlework to ceramics, and more recently a real joy in watercolor painting. She was also an avid collector in several areas and enjoyed reading, gardening and just being outdoors. Many memories were made at the family cabin on Hood Canal that Peggie and Cheese built in 1955, where the family enjoyed living during the summers; it continues to be a special place for the extended families and friends.

She is survived by her four children: Trudy (Ki-Hung) No of Olympia, Mike (Lynne) of Bothell, Tom (Dawn) of Redmond, and Margo Lindberg of Mountlake Terrace. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Brandon and Kasey No, Rachael and Blake Lindberg, Chad Lindberg and Mallori (Lindberg) Jones. She is also survived by one sister, Ruth Eastman of Monroe, and numerous nieces and nephews. Peggie was predeceased by her loving husband in 2008, her parents, one brother, and four sisters.

Volunteering was always a part of Peggy's life, even when raising a young family. A charter member of Rainier Guild of Children's Hospital, a charter member of Mason General Hospital Auxiliary, a life member of Mason County Historical Society, a life member of Montana State University Alumni Association, and a life member at VFW Auxiliary.
