Marion "Mernie" Mathews

Marion "Mernie" Mathews of Shelton, passed away on January 23rd, 2022 in her sleep at home, like she wanted, she was 95.

Mernie was born to Clarence and Marie Locke on October 19th, 1926. She worked most her life, and retired from the Mason County Assessor's office. On June 3rd, 1974, she married the love of her life, David Mathews. They were married over 47 years.

Mernie was proud of her heritage and being raised in Quinault, WA. She had extreme love for her family, and friends. She loved her dogs and collection of butterflies.

Surviving Mernie is her husband David, daughter Tami Glavin, of Shelton, son Russell Jacobson, of Phoenix, AZ, step-daughter Helen Sprigg, of Tacoma; 13 grandchildren as well as eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in passing were her parents, her brother Clarence S. Locke, son Thomas Mathews, granddaughter MaryAnn McCarty, and grandson Russell Jacobson, Jr.

A Celebration of life will be on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at El Puerto De Angeles, 2503 Olympic Highway N. Shelton, Washington, WA 98584 at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to: Quinault Museum, 354 South Shore Rd or to: PO Box 35, Quinault, Washington, 98575.
