Little Creek Casino hosting vaccine clinic Friday

Little Creek Casino is hosting a vaccine clinic from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.

According to a Mason Health Facebook post, Moderna and Pfizer boosters and Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccine doses will be available. The clinic will be at the Skookum Creek Event Center, 91 W. state Route 108, Shelton.

Anyone interested can register for the clinic by scanning a QR code on the flier.

Work on North 13th Street Monday

Shelton has hired a private contractor to work on North 13th Street between the hospital and Wallace Kneeland Boulevard on Monday.

Construction will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and flaggers and other control measures will be in place. Drivers are encouraged to use caution when driving through the area.

COVID-19 cases reach another record

Mason County recorded 1,369 cases of COVID-19 from Jan. 19 to Tuesday, according to Mason County Division of Emergency Management.

Mason County recorded one death last week, a man in his 60s. The county has a seven-day case rate of 1,687.7 per 100,000 people and a 14-day case rate of 2,505.7 per 100,000. Nine people are hospitalized as of Tuesday.

Mason County is 55.7% vaccinated.

People can order free at-home COVID tests from the federal and state government. Tests from the federal government can be ordered at covidtests.gov and state at-home tests can be ordered at sayyescovidhometest.org.
