This week, Mary is very busy with her chapter meetings and setting them up. The summer clothes have been put away and the winter clothes have come out. Sam and Bud are building a structure to store the boat and summer furniture.

Picked up Edith Michael and caught the 8:30 ferry. Went to Fredericks to Associate Conductresses meeting at 10:30 and it was very interesting. Went to the card shop on 4th Ave. where we saw lovely things. To shopping and found a blond coat and very happy it is not too long. Caught 5:30 ferry home then went to Lovey's. We went to have Chinese food at Charlie's. Had a nice visit. Home at 8:30 and put my things away. Very tired. Very cold out. A very warm day.

Friday, Sept. 20, 1946

Moved all summer clothes upstairs and it was good to have it done. Raked all down cedar and fir boughs off lawn. Bud Bickle finished the rest. Sam and Bud hauled dirt for the garden. All done. Went to Betty Robertson LeMeirs to dinner and so well she does everything! We had a lovely evening and came home late. Very cold out.

Saturday, Sept. 21, 1946

Sunny out and very warm but rain frogs are croaking. Cleaned out the closet. It is ready for winter now. Sam put up signs for port meeting Wednesday evening and did errands. Sam mowed half of the lawn with the power mower. Surely it works fine. I laid in the sun and it's so warm.

Sunday, Sept. 22, 1946

Arose early. Pressed clothes and then put 27 ears of corn on the cob in locker. It was a very warm day and I certainly felt the heat as I got the corn ready. Sam and Bud hauled 3 more loads of manure from the big barn so we have all the soil we need. Sam went to Shelton and Olympia in the p.m. Squires worked in the garden. Donna and Veronica came down for a second. Went to Bainbridge Friendship Night with Cleora, Marie, Lovey and Eunice DeLong. A lovely evening but very warm. The addenda for Florence and one for officers very lovely.

Monday, Sept. 23, 1946

The dog barking woke me up early. Another warm day beginning and how lovely our lawn looks. Sam went to Seattle to get fitted for

glasses. He lost his off the dock in Allyn Sunday. Marie Higgins came out and we gathered rose seed for chapter decorations. Went to Holly at noon and visited Grandma and Aunt Kate. It was so lovely out and we sat outside in the sun and had a grand visit. Got some yellow daisies and frothy white flower like baby's breath. Had a flat tire in the yard.

Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1946

Arose late and Bill Hyde brought his wife Evelyn down before I even was dressed. Went to Mrs. Walker's in the morning with all the skirts that need to be lengthened. We had a nice visit. Then to the field for corn and put some more in the locker. Took some home and ate it for lunch. Sam and Bud Bickle worked on the new building for covering the boat, trailer and summer furniture. The dog scared a deer out into the bay so I tied Pat up and later the deer left. Evelyn and I went swimming and lay out in the sun. We felt so good afterward. Sam went to port commission meeting.

Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1946

Went to Wychoff's and had my hair waved then stopped at Walker's a while for a fitting. Went to Bremerton and Eunice and I set up chapter. Saw the tables downstairs and they were so lovely with apple trees out of rose seeds and tiny apple pickers and ladders by each tree. The flowers upstairs were pink and lavender Michaelmas daisies with pink dahlias. A record crowd came and the balcony was even full. All went very well and we surely enjoyed the "Style Show" put on by the Starlight Girls. How we laughed! Betty Curl Dishon came and she went home with me. A lovely evening and it was good to have it turn out so well.
