The Shelton School Board on Tuesday evening gave final approval to rule revisions on meeting conduct, the order of business and language considered "uncivil." Sharon Trask and Miguel Gutierrez will be facing off in the general election in November with the primary election results set to be certified next week. The last update was Aug. 5 and the results will be certified Aug. 16. Gutierrez leads all candidates for commissioner District 3 with 2,350 votes for 43.09%. The City of Shelton started a plastic film recycling program in April. Three months in, the program is going strong, according to City Manager Jeff Niten. I've had a banner year of pollinators. The mason bee nest is full and I'm seeing such a variety of wasps, bees and flies that I've stopped worrying about stings when I'm working in the garden. The Shelton School District is considering a $78-million budget for the 2022-2023 school year. Brenda Trogstad, the district’s director of finance, gave the Shelton School Board a final overview Tuesday of the proposed budget.
