HABITAT for HUMANITY of Mason County, established in 1996, is seeking a full time Executive Director. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors (BOD) and is responsible for overseeing all Habitat operations in Mason County. Interaction with local businesses and Habitat Affiliates is required to complete Habitat’s mission (Habitat believes everyone deserves a decent place to live) The Executive Director must operate in excellence, and in the highest ethical standards. The Executive Director must be a self-starter who recognizes current operational needs and can look forward to ensuring continued service and operational growth in support of the local community. The Executive Director will supervise department heads to assist in meeting the goals. The Executive Director must have excellent writing, budgeting and operational management skills. The ability to manage multiple operational activities is a must (Store operations, construction activities in home building, home preservation, accounts payable and budget management). The Executive Director must have an excellent knowledge of Human Resource Management to ensure alignment with state and federal laws. Other duties include: Oversee Homeowner Mortgage compliance and operate programs with excellence. Oversee compliance with state, federal and local law in all aspects of finance, nonprofit operations, construction, retail, and other governing bodies of our different programs. Oversee compliance in reporting as required by law, HFHI and as established as best practices of the nonprofit industry (i.e. filing the 990 with the IRS, overseeing an annual Audit, filing that Audit where is appropriate, paying state and federal payroll taxes and reporting, submitting HFHI reports, etc.) Supervise department heads to ensure they have work plans in place that connect to the Strategic Plan goals.
