Classical carols

The Chamber Singers of Shelton High School bring the spirit of the season to Shelton United Methodist Church at the last of the Soup and Sound events hosted by the congregation in the weeks before Christmas.


VETERANS, SCOUTS and volunteers stand by 700-plus baskets of food for the needy Saturday morning as the 40 et 8-Journal Christmas Fund comes to its culmination. The fund exceeded its $25,000 goal.

Christmas Eve

Sunset turned the electric powerlines of PUD 3 into holiday lights on a stretch of State Route 3 between Deer Creek and Bayshore.

THIS SOLDIER PILE slide barrier is being constructed as a way of catching debris from mudslides at the intersection of Sunnyside Road and Highway 101. This area was unscathed by this month's storm, but crews employed by the state have cleaned up 16 mudslides on 101.
