TEN-YEAR-OLD Sheltonian Blake Szolomayer-Truini died in this Highway 101 accident at what Washington State Patrol Sergeant Wes Stockwell called "a horrific scene." Stockwell praised two passersby who began CPR on the youngster.

SKOKOMISH CULTURAL MASTER Bruce Miller displays one of his carvings at a public art exhibit in 1993. He died February 5 at age 60.

THE DOOR WAS OPEN Monday night for this guest and others at the new emergency shelter for the homeless at Saint DavidÕs Parish Hall.

Shoppers check out some of the items at the "Tsale for Tsunami Relief" held on Friday at Hood Canal School. Sponsored by the school and its associated student body, the sale was made possible by the donations of toys, board games, puzzles, sports items and clothes. Sponsors of the sale said money generated by the sale of items will go to a number of relief groups.
