Crowded house

The line stretched out toward Pine Street for most of Friday night when Stacey Anderson's leadership class at CHOICE High School in downtown Shelton built a haunted house and invited the community to attend. Anderson said more than 400 people passed through the spooky confines in the runup to Halloween. The class was expecting about half that number. The haunted house's organizers offered snacks and free costumes as part of the fun.

In memory of Jenny

The 2004 Memorial Tree at this year's Fantasy Forest will be dedicated to Jenny Buhl. The 20-year-old daughter of Bob and Laurie Buhl died this past year after a lengthy battle with cystic fibrosis. The memorial ornament is a white porcelain dove and comes with a velvet ribbon for hanging and a gift box. Each will be personalized with the name of a loved one and hung on the Memorial Tree throughout Fantasy Forest, November 17-20 at The Pavilion at Sentry Park. To purchase a memorial ornament, call 427-3623 or 275-8614 or stop by Mason General Hospital for an order form.
