Where our children go to school
WHEN THE 2007-2008 year opens at Hood Canal School, students and staff will enjoy a new $8.4-million building constructed after passage of a bond issue in 2004. Groundbreaking was May 1, 2006 and construction has continued through this year.

The county has seven public school districts, two Christian schools and a community college:

GRAPEVIEW SCHOOL DISTRICT

Grades: K-8. Enrollment: 192 full-time equivalent (185 in 2005-2006, 185 in 2004-2005 and 164 in 2003-2004). Square miles: 21. Assessed value: $396,951,066 ($387,717,404 in 2006). Superintendent: Jim Snyder. Major administrative assistants: Tracy Arkin, administrative assistant and business manager. Employees: 26. Teachers: 12.
